What is the March for Science?
March for Science is an effort comprised of dozens of independent, nonpartisan coordinators. Recent rhetoric has inspired us to march on Washington D.C. and in Satellite Marches across the country. Our mission statement is as follows:
The March for Science champions publicly funded and publicly communicated science as a pillar of human freedom and prosperity. We unite as a diverse, nonpartisan group to call for science that upholds the common good, and for political leaders and policymakers to enact evidence-based policies in the public interest.

2017 EARTH DAY AUSTIN FESTIVAL
Y’all, we’re sorry to say that this Saturday’s #SciMarchATX has been canceled. We’ve been monitoring the weather forecast all this week and it shows rain and a possibility of thunderstorms before, during and after the scheduled time for the march.
We’re disappointed and we know you are, too. But, remember, marching is just one way to champion science and STEM advancement for the betterment of all humanity. We hope you’ll continue to support students, scientists and educators. We pledge to do the same.
This movement is possible due to the generosity of our community and their care for Science! These funds will be used in Austin to pay for all associated costs with the March. Costs include: Permits, sound system, power, police escort, etc! Please help us make this event a reality again!
